IN-GAME UPDATE: Penguins 3 at Bears 1 – End 1st

Not a great start for the Bears in this one, as the Penguins get two quick strikes, both set up by captain Tom Kostopoulos.  Dominik Simon and Carter Rowney had the tallies.  The goals came after Hershey couldn’t generate any pressure on their only power play of the period.

Liam O’Brien gave the team some life, capitalizing on a defensive miscue behind the Penguin net, but Simon tallied his second of the period – and tied Riley Barber for 2nd among AHL rookies in goal-scoring in the process – and the Penguins lead 3-1 after one.

Nothing much needs to be said here.  I’m sure there was downstairs.

Down, but certainly not out!  Second period on deck!

Box score is right here.
