The Chocolate and White rounded out their weekend looking for a two game sweep over the Portland Pirates. Chris Bourque put his team on the board first at the 8:42 mark. He chipped a loose puck between the face off circles, off the inside goal post and in for his sixth goal of the season.
Bourque opened Hershey’s scoring last night as well. With goals in back-to-back games, it’s a positive sign he could be heating up. Also, remember last night when the Bears did not capitalize on a 5-on-3 chance for a full 2:00? Tonight, it was a different story on the two-man advantage.
Bang-bang goals on the power play put Hershey up, 3-0. Travis Boyd and Chris Brown raised the power play percentage with a couple strikes.
Nice, energetic start for the Bears. Certainly a carry over from the night before.
Into the second period, just over a minute past the halfway mark, Paul Carey opened the lead to 4-0. He finished a beautiful slap-pass to the back door from Ryan Stanton. That fourth goal was nice to get. We can’t forget about a game at GIANT Center a couple weeks ago, when the St. John’s IceCaps came back from a 3-0 deficit to down Hershey.
